July 12, 2002-2 (11:14pm) What does it mean when you feel the food placed before you is undeserved? Like feeding this body is like feeding the pain. Because every second you are aware of the flesh around your bones is one more second you have to remember where it's been, what it's become. There's dirt it won't let go of. No matter how much you bathe, how much you wash, how hot the water is you'll never be rid of all that was left behind. It's underneath your skin, inside your mind, revealed only by your eyes, projected when you sleep, when you're stressed, when you pause to rest for just one moment too long. It never goes away, not for a second. And although they won't let you forget, you'll never forget, there's a piece of you that wants to go on living, for the sake of truth. Because no matter how strongly you believe that somehow you deserved it, that pain that strong somehow holds purpose, you'll never quite forget the things they tell you. That even though the facts sometimes prove otherwise, you are not at fault. No matter how strongly you believe, how vividly you remember...it's not your fault, it's not your fault...it's not your fault.
