We went to the second digital photography class last night out in Santa Ana. My batteries only lasted overnight so when we got to the continuous shooting part of the class, my "test" shot killed the batteries about three-quarters of the way through. Between topics we would flip through our manuals and I discovered that my camera (FujiFilm S3 Pro) has a double exposure setting, where you can take one picture, then overlay a second picture so to speak. In my photography class in middle school we made pin hole cameras and developed our own photos but because we had to keep the shutter open on the pin hole cameras for 3-5 minutes, we were able to do multiple exposures which I miss doing. I had one where I took a photo of a brick wall with a sign on it and then took a photo of some trees in the amphitheater and the trees turned out looking like they were made of bricks. I have huge problems with battery life though. I saw the S5 on the internet today and I totally want it but since I've hardly used my S3, it's probably not necessary to upgrade. We're going to the L.A. National Grand Prix (provided I remember to buy tickets) on November 17th for some camera practice. I've never been the photographer, always the photographed at those things so I'd like to learn to get a good shot right when the horse is reaching the hight of the jump.
I'm attempting this Joomla 1.5 design contest thing. There's tons more work involved than when I designed this site because I didn't have to make the template dynamic in any way, aside from placing the modules in the right place. Now they've got this Custom Module Chrome, Template Parameters, and Template Override that have to be incorporated into the design rather than just the usual module tag. The Template Parameters feature is pretty cool and it's easy to implement. Template Override depends highly on your understanding of the new system, how parameters and permissions are pulled up and how the content is retrieved. I can manage template override if there's a sample in the packaged template "beez". If there's no sample, I'm at a bit of a loss. I don't know the first thing about Pear and arrays have never been my forte, they confuse me. I'm still playing around with the Custom Module Chrome thing. I couldn't wrap my brain around it at first but now it seems super easy. Unfortunately, my first not-so-simple attempt has not worked as planned, however it could be my style sheet that's the problem. I don't usually use div tags in my designs. I'm more of a table person, I find them much more predictable and you can put twenty cells next to each other without a problem.
