Welcome to Amas Veritas [dot] com

Updates: Media (lyrics) has a new layout. I could never figure out how to lay it out, but it's easier to navigate now. I'm still working on a better duplicate Mamblog mod. I'm trying to make submittions easier but the poetry form died for some reason. Quizzes are also on their way from the old site. Joomla content isn't very code friendly so I'm having to rewrite old code. You can still click on News > AH v21 > Screen if you wish to use the quizzes.

I keep forgetting to create an "awesome tools" section so I can share all the totally cool software and gadgets I come across in my work. One I had to go searching for again today is Easy Graphic Converter.

I know lots of people out there who have websites also have great graphic tools & skills, but I am somehow completely out of the loop, and when it comes to creating graphics, I sometimes get "lucky" and end up with a great image, but I am no where NEAR "talented" at it.

For those of you who have your own awesome graphic tools, you probably don't need this one, but if you've ever wondered how they take a custom image and turn it into those little icons that show up in your MSIE tabs, or on your desktop when you create a shortcut for a website, this is the software you need.

Most software programs are compatible with all sorts of image files, but it's not often you come across one that can edit or convert images to ".ico" format. Once you've created your file with Easy Graphic Converter (free trial, $19.95 to buy), just stick the following tag between your <head> tags:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.yourwebsite.com/location/to/favicon.ico" />

That's it. Your viewers just need MSIE 7.0 to see it. It also shows up below the address bar if you add a site to your "Links" folder in your browser favorites. You can also create your own desktop icons with the software, and the price is totally reasonable.

We don't have one here yet because I'm indecisive, but my work website has our colors and the number of years we've been in business "70". I downloaded the software today so I could update that to "71" but I've also added my signature "W" to my e-commerce "mock-up" site at WestVillageDesign.com. MANY sites around the internet are utilizing this graphic. Make your mark and try it for yourself!
